"As the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls

significance:

Well this book is about a boy and his relationship with his dogs/family its valuable because it shows that if you really care for someone youll keep your promises and always be there for them. I care or this peice because of the way it has problem after problem after problem it shows how horrible his life gets wich was like a lure to get us to a happy and at the same time sad ending. In this book the main character was Billy he was a regualr farm boy who really wanted some dogs to coon hunt with. so he finds enouph money to buy a pair of dogs by selling fish bait and fruits to fishermen, so his grandpa orders them for him.

Perspective:

In this book it really didnt have a good side or a bad side till the end/climaxe well there are these two boys in the book with the names of ruben and rainie pritchard. They betted that little billys dogs couldnt catch the legendary ghost coon. so the prichard boys and billy went on a hunt for the ghost coon it was long but finally the prichard boys decided to give up but billy refused to stop just before the dogs had treed the coon, ruben started beeting up billy because he didnt want to kill her so at the same time billys dogs atacks the prichards dogs and ended up witha massive dog fight in between the fight ruben goes to attack billys dogs but ends up killing himself withhis own axe.

So in this part of the book billy was the good side just trying to prove them wrong

and the bad side was the prichard boys

evidence:

In this book it shows alot of parts that mean something weather it may be a meataphour or just plain out life. This book has some good parts that mean somethings that help you understand the charcters well you can tell that old dan is brave like they said because of the way he always gets into bad situations like getting his head stuck ina trench or getting stuck in a tree. you can tell that little anne is smart because of the way she doeasnt get in trouble and always has a good way of finding what their looking for.

I like the way the author slowly enters data into our head by using challenges and obsatcles.

Connection:

There are two parts in my book that kinda really effect each other. At the end there was a giant coon contest that billy was entered in with his dogs. In between the contest his dogs get lost but Billy and his grandpa eventually find them in ice but at the same time have gathered enouph coons to win the tournement they resieve 300 dallars as prize money. But old dan was badly hurt after a day of trying to keep him alive old dan dies but then little anne dies right after her heart broken.

So these parts all connect

Supposistion:

This book would be totally different if you changed it it would lose its way of showing how bad billy had it. and it would actually kill the grasp of the book .so if you were to change the setting then they probaly wouldnt coon hunt wich led his dogs to die and no red fern, and obiesly if you change the animal specias then no one that read this book would understand it most likely.
